Napa County Coroner Identifies Bicyclist Killed in American Canyon Crash

 
AMERICAN CANYON, CA (May 10, 2021)Eric Bernard Johnson died in a bicycle accident early Friday morning on Highway 29 in American Canyon.
 
The accident happened around 12:22 a.m. on May 7, near Kimberly Drive. According to American Canyon police, Johnson was riding his bicycle in the slow northbound lane with bags of items hanging from the handlebars when a minivan struck him.
 
As a result, Johnson suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 52-year-old Solano County resident, according to the Napa County Coroner’s Office.
 
Police said there were no lights on the bike and Johnson was wearing a dark clothing.
 
It is unknown if the driver of the minivan has stayed after the crash.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
