Enrique Meza Dies in Adelanto Car Crash after Apolinar Lopez Runs Red Light
ADELANTO, CA (August 31, 2022) – Enrique Meza died in a broadside car accident in Adelanto on Sunday afternoon, August 28.
The accident happened around 1:19 p.m. on Highway 395 at Chamberlaine Way. According to the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, 18-year-old Apolinar Lopez of Adelanto drove a white older model Toyota Tacoma north on the highway when he ran a red light at the intersection.
Meza, a 33-year-old Adelanto resident, drove a silver 2018 Chevrolet Malibu. He traveled eastbound, crossing the highway when the Tacoma broadsided his car.
Responding emergency personnel Meza trapped inside the Malibu. Fire crews extricated him and transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Lopez did not sustain any injuries. No arrests were made, sheriff’s booking records show.
Meza leaves behind his wife Becca and two beautiful daughters named Bells and Rosie Meza. A GoFundMe has been set up.
