Pedestrian Accident in Simi Valley, Elizabeth Strull Dies

 
SIMI VALLEY, CA (September 28, 2021) – One person was killed while another sustained injuries after being hit by a car on Cochran Street and Stow Street Tuesday, September 14.
 
Police identified the victim as 68-year-old Elizabeth S. Strull of Simi Valley, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. near Simi Valley High School. According to the Simi Valley Police Department, Strull and a 37-year-old woman had been in a crosswalk when they were struck by a Honda CR-V. The two women, walking north across the intersection, apparently had the right of way, according to police.
 
The Honda first struck the 37-year-old. She fell off the vehicle, suffering significant injuries. As a result, officials transported her to a local emergency room.
 
The collision vaulted Strull into the intersection. Paramedics transported her in an ambulance to a trauma center, where she died.
 
The driver of the Honda, a 60-year-old Simi Valley woman, stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. She did not appear to be impaired. In addition, she voluntarily provided a blood sample.
 
The incident remained under investigation.
