Elizabeth Ruiz Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Harbor Gateway, Police Seek Suspect
HARBOR GATEWAY, CA (January 24, 2022) – Elizabeth Ruiz was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles, late Friday evening.
The fatal crash happened a little after 11:00 p.m. on January 21, just north of 186th Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 33-year-old victim from Gardena was crossing westbound when a car struck her.
After hitting Ruiz, the involved driver did not stop to render aid.
When officers arrived, they found Ruiz suffering from fatal injuries and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police described the vehicle as a black, early model, medium-sized sedan. They offered a reward of up to $50,000 to anyone who can provide information about the suspect.
