Police Arrest Eliseo Reyes for DUI and Hit-and-Run Charges after Crash in Taft

 
TAFT, CA (January 11, 2022) – Police arrested Eliseo Reyes after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Taft on Sunday night.
 
The crash happened around 6:50 p.m. on January 9 at 10th Street and San Emidio Street. According to the Taft Police Department, the 44-year-old suspect was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang when he rear-ended a 2022 Toyota Camry that was stopped at a four-way stop sign.
 
Two male occupants in the Camry, a 19-year-old driver and 22-year-old passenger, complained of pain after the crash. Paramedics transported both to a Bakersfield hospital for treatment.
 
Reyes reportedly fled the scene without rendering aid. Police later located him in the 100 block of Taylor Street. They arrested him on suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run and driving without a license.
 
Further investigation is underway.
