Eliseo Mamahua Killed by Bus in San Diego Pedestrian Accident

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 26, 2021) — A bus hit and killed a man on San Ysidro Boulevard near Virginia Avenue on Friday, October 15.
 
Police identified the victim as 87-year-old Eliseo Salgado Mamahua, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the fatal accident happened around 6:45 p.m. at 500 San Ysidro Boulevard. Mamahua spoke to his wife after parking his ice cream truck in the area.
 
According to initial reports from San Diego Police Department, Mamahua attempted to cross San Ysidro Boulevard. However, a witness saw him stumble before a charter bus hit him.
 
Mamahua was dragged under the bus and came to rest on the street. However, the bus driver stopped the vehicle and immediately called 911.
 
Arriving police and paramedics declared him dead at the scene without medical intervention.
 
The accident is under investigation. As a result, anyone with additional information should contact the San Diego Police.
