CHULA VISTA, CA (February 8, 2021) — An elderly man suffered fatal injuries in a hit-and-run on H Street on Sunday, January 17.
 
Chula Vista police received reports of a pedestrian struck by a car shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. They responded to the scene on the 700 block of East H Street.
 
According to the police, the 85-year-old Hispanic man crossed southbound on the street. Then he reportedly tripped and fell on the roadway. After that, an eastbound vehicle struck the pedestrian.
 
According to police, the vehicle that struck the man drove away after the collision. Reports described the car as a dark-colored 2015-2018 Toyota sedan.
 
Paramedics discovered the man lying on the ground with several injuries. Despite performing life-saving measures, the man died at the scene.
 
Police continue to look for the involved vehicle and driver.
