Man Standing on McKee Road in San Jose Fatally Struck by Car

SAN JOSE, CA (July 14, 2021) – An elderly man was killed in a pedestrian accident on McKee Road in San Jose early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 2:26 a.m. on July 14, near Jose Figueres Avenue and Regional Medical Center. According to the San Jose Police Department, the elderly man was standing in the roadway between crosswalks when a 2020 Subaru sedan hit him.

Responding paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once family members are notified.

The man driving the Subaru stopped and cooperated with authorities. Police said there was no evidence at the scene to indicate that he was driving under the influence.
