40-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 101 Freeway in Hollywood

 
HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 15, 2023) – Elden Johnson was killed in a pedestrian accident in Hollywood early Tuesday morning on July 11.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:53 a.m. at North Los Angeles Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck the 40-year-old victim along the southbound freeway.
 
Johnson suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner.
 
It was unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash. It is also unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
 
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of the three left lanes of the southbound freeway for three hours while they investigated the crash.
