Edmundo Hernandez Dies in 2-Car Collision on Newland Street and Trask Avenue

 
WESTMINSTER, CA (December 19, 2022) — Edmundo Hernandez died in a two-car accident on Newland Street and Trask Avenue.
 
According to Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 10:00 a.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Chevrolet Camaro failed to yield to a traffic stop as officers pursued the driver for fraudulent tags. The driver reportedly ran a red traffic light just a block away and crashed into a black BMW, driven by 64-year-old Edmundo L. Hernandez.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to the scene and transported Hernandez and his 54-year-old male passenger to a hospital where Hernandez passed away.
 
The driver of the Camaro reportedly left on foot but was taken into custody after an hours-long search conducted by the Westminster and Garden Grove Police Departments.
 
In the investigation, authorities learned that alcohol played a factor in the crash. Although, an investigation should clarify more information.
