Eddie Ontiveroz Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway in Orland

 
ORLAND, CA (June 1, 2021) – Police identified Eddie Ontiveroz as the victim who died in a high-speed crash on 5 Freeway on May 22.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Newville Road shortly after 7:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, Ontiveroz was traveling on the freeway at a high speed prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, his vehicle got off the freeway and drove past the stop sign and across the intersection. Subsequently, it crashed into a dirt embankment and a chain-linked fence.
 
As a result, emergency crews transported Ontiveroz to Enloe Medical Center in Chico, where he later died. Officials identified him as a 38-year-old man.
 
Police did not suspect alcohol or drugs as a factor in the deadly crash.
