Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 at Hutchinson Road in Sutter County

 
SUTTER COUNTY, CA (August 24, 2022) – Police confirmed that two vehicles struck and killed a driver following his involvement in a solo-car accident on Highway 99.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on August 22 at Hutchinson Road around 5:20 AM.
 
Based on reports, the man was driving a white Ford Fusion north on the highway when he crashed into a ditch. Subsequently, he got out of the car and stood in traffic lanes, attempting to wave down vehicles
 
About five minutes later, a silver Honda Civic traveling south hit him. Then, a gray Honda Civic north struck him again.
 
As a result, the CHP said the victim died in the incident. Officials only identified him as a 31-year-old man from Oroville.
 
Both drivers pulled over and cooperated with officers. Police did not make any arrest. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
