Driver Hurt in Hesperia Big Rig Crash on Highway 395
HESPERIA, CA (May 10, 2021) — A man was severely injured in a big rig accident on Highway 395 at Joshua Street Thursday morning.
According to deputies, the accident involved multiple vehicles, many of which had been unoccupied. For unknown reasons, a driver of a semi-truck had failed to stop at a red traffic light. Subsequently, the big rig collided with a westbound 2002 Pontiac at Joshua Street.
Due to the impact, both vehicles traveled in a southwest direction and slammed into seven unoccupied cars.
Shortly after, paramedics responded to the scene and transported the Pontiac driver to a local trauma center in critical condition.
At this time, detectives have not confirmed if DUI played a role. However, if any witnesses have more information, please call the Hesperia Police Station at 760-947-1500.
