Accident on Avenue 66 in Mecca Involves Tractor, Injuries Reported

 
MECCA, CA (April 18, 2021) – A driver suffered serious injuries after an accident at Avenue 66 and Grant Street Friday morning, April 16.
 
The accident happened around 5:24 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The driver of an unknown vehicle collided with a tractor trailer.
 
Firefighters immediately responded and freed the driver from the wreckage. A helicopter crew then transported the person to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
No other injuries were reported, including the person at the wheel of the tractor.
 
California Highway Patrol officers are still investigating the cause of the crash and factors involved.
