Driver Dies in Rollover Accident on Highway 163 in Mission Valley

 
MISSION VALLEY, CA (June 14, 2022) — A driver died in a rollover crash on Highway 163 near Friars Road on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved two vehicles around 10:15 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a black BMW struck a white Toyota Camry and then skidded across several lanes.
 
Subsequently, the BMW veered off the freeway and tumbled down an embankment before crashing into an Extra Space Storage building near Friars Road.
 
Moments after, the car burst into flames and the driver of the BMW suffered fatal wounds. The Toyota driver reported no injuries in the accident.
 
At this time, investigators have not confirmed the ultimate cause of the crash. However, an investigation into DUI should confirm any outstanding details.
