SAN LEANDRO, CA (June 2, 2022) — A driver suffered fatal injuries in a big rig accident on Eden Road at around 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31.
 
According to the San Leandro police report, the collision happened between a car and a big-rig truck on Eden Road and Doolittle Drive, just east of the Oakland International Airport.
 
Upon arrival, officers found the female driver of the vehicle unresponsive and she died at the scene. Medics rushed a passenger in her car to a local hospital.
 
Police said the initial investigation determined that speed contributed to the incident.
 
The driver of the truck was not hurt. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation of the crash.
