Driver Dies in Dixon Multi-Car Crash on 80 Freeway

 
DIXON, CA (May 11, 2022) — A driver died in a multi-car accident on the 80 Freeway near Pedrick Road on Tuesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle crash happened around 6:50 a.m. For unknown reasons, a westbound Ford F-650 driving in the third lane struck the rear of another truck.
 
As a result, the impact caused the second truck to crash into the center median guardrail while the Ford continued westbound and sideswiped a Volvo tractor-trailer vehicle.
 
Due to the severe impact, the 42-year-old Ford driver died at the scene and a 28-year-old male passenger in the Ford suffered major injuries and sought care at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics treated four people in the second truck at the scene for minor injuries.
 
At this time, CHP officers have not confirmed if DUI or distracted driving played a factor in this multi-car accident. Although, if any witnesses have news to share on this crash, please contact the CHP.
