1 Dead, 2 Hospitalized after Sewage Truck Accident on Highway 17 in Los Gatos

 
LOS GATOS, CA (June 7, 2021) – A driver was killed in an accident involving a sewage truck on Highway 17, Saturday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly after 8:00 a.m. A sewage truck reportedly lost control and traveled down Black Road. Then, the sewage truck careened across a frontage road and hit a concrete berm.
 
The impact caused the truck to overturn and slam into a pickup truck and a Mercedes Benz. As per reports, the truck also spilled sewage on the highway.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the pickup truck driver, identified as a San Jose man in his 30s, dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the truck driver and the Mercedes Benz driver to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Responders shut down two southbound lanes until 3:40 p.m. to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
CHP and the Los Gatos Police Department continue to investigate the fatal accident.
