Two Vehicles Involved in Fiery Head-On Crash on Avenue 9 in Madera County

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (April 28, 2021) – Police confirmed that a female driver died in a head-on crash on Avenue 9 on April 22.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Road 38 shortly before 7:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, a Chevrolet Malibu was heading west on Avenue 9 at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle suddenly crossed over into oncoming traffic. Then, it crashed head-on with a pick-up truck. Subsequently, the Chevy Malibu burst into flames.
 
As a result, the female Chevy driver died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the name of the victim pending kin notification. Paramedics airlifted the 29-year-old driver of the pick-up to the hospital with major injuries.
 
At this point, an investigation into this head-on crash on Avenue 9 is still ongoing.
