Head-On Accident on Highway 145 in Coalinga Kills One Driver

 
COALINGA, CA (February 25, 2021) – One driver died Tuesday evening after a head-on accident on Highway 145 in Coalinga.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 6:00 p.m. near 5 Freeway.
 
Officials said an SUV was traveling southbound on Highway 145 when for unknown reasons, it crossed over to the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a pickup truck.
 
As a result, the driver of the pickup truck sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the woman driving the SUV was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with moderate injuries.
 
Both the on-ramp and off-ramp on Highway 145 near 5 Freeway were closed for a few hours as the investigation into the incident continues.
