Driver Dies After Vehicle Hits Garbage Truck on Highway 163 in Linda Vista

 
LINDA VISTA, CA (April 26, 2022) — A driver died after a car hit a garbage truck on Highway 163 near Genesee Avenue on Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle accident happened around 6:37 a.m. For unknown reasons, a man driving a Ford Fusion, traveling at a high rate of speed, collided with a commercial garbage truck.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, which took place on the northbound highway, the 24-year-old Ford driver suffered fatal injuries. Authorities have not released his name pending notification of family members.
 
At this time, the identity of the trash hauler and the leading cause of the crash were not available. However, we will update this report once we receive additional information.
