Driver Dies in Los Banos Car Crash with Semi-Truck on 5 Freeway

 
LOS BANOS, CA (February 28, 2022) — A driver died in a car accident with a semi-truck on the 5 Freeway near Highway 152 on Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened around 6:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver passing several cars on the 5 Freeway lost control. Subsequently, the vehicle slammed into a semi-truck on the shoulder.
 
Due to the nature of the accident, the driver suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The officers have not released the person’s name pending notification of family members.
 
At this time, officers released no knowledge on the ultimate cause of the accident. However, anyone with information should reach out to the authorities.
