Driver Dies in Santa Fe Springs Crash with Big Rig on Excelsior Drive

SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (January 4, 2022) — A driver died in a car accident with a big rig on Excelsior Drive near Shoemaker Avenue on Sunday night.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the fatal incident happened around 7:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a sedan collided with a big rig at 13545 Excelsior Drive.
 
Upon responding, authorities found one person dead and a sedan underneath the rear of the semi-truck. As for the big rig driver, he or she suffered no injuries in the accident.
 
At this time, Whittier police officers have no confirmation on the cause or circumstances. However, anyone with information should contact the authorities.
