Driver Dies in Crash with Big Rig on 10 Freeway in Indio

 
INDIO, CA (March 10, 2022) — A driver died in an accident with a big rig on the 10 Freeway near Monroe Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday. For unknown reasons, a driver in a pickup was driving recklessly and collided with a semi-truck parked along the side of the freeway.
 
Due to the impact, the pickup wedged itself under the big rig, killing the driver.
 
Following the accident, paramedics arrived and tended to the semi-truck driver and passenger, who injured his or her arm.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the fatal victim’s identity. However, we will update this report once we receive more information.
