Driver Dies in San Jose 2-Car Crash on White Road

SAN JOSE, CA (January 13, 2022) — A driver died in a car accident on White Road at Almond Drive in San Jose on Wednesday morning.

According to San Jose police, the fatal collision happened around 8:07 a.m. For possible speed-related reasons, a driver in a northbound 2002 GMC SUV collided with a 2003 Toyota minivan.

According to the investigation, the Toyota minivan driver tried to make a left-hand turn onto White Road from Almond Drive seconds prior to the accident. However, the GMC may have been traveling at an excessive speed.

The minivan driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Following the accident, paramedics brought the female passenger of the Toyota to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, officers interviewed the male driver of the GMC, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. However, they arrested him and booked him for vehicular manslaughter after learning that speed might have factored into the accident.
