Driver Dies in 2-Car Collision on Silverado Trail in Napa County

 
NAPA COUNTY, CA (October 13, 2022) — A driver died in a car accident on Silverado Trail near Oakville Cross Road on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle collision happened around 11:42 a.m. In the 7800 block of Silverado Trail, a driver of a box truck slowed down to turn into a driveway. However, a Ford Ranger pickup truck traveling behind the box truck rear-ended the vehicle for unknown reasons.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, the Ford driver, whose name is unavailable, suffered fatal injuries. As for the occupants in the box truck, they reported no injuries.
 
Following the incident, officers closed Silverado Trail to investigate what led to the crash. By 2:00 p.m., authorities reopened the highway.
