FRESNO, CA (July 26, 2021) — A truck driver sustained injuries in an accident on Highway 99 near North Avenue in Fresno early Thursday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened past 2 a.m. Initial reports indicated that a semi-truck hauling pastries was merging onto the highway when it hit a green pickup. The latter has a landscaping trailer and was parked on the right shoulder of the road.

The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries but it was not clear whether they were transported to a hospital. The pastries spilled across the roadway.
