BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 6, 2022) — A driver suffered an injury in a DUI hit-and-run crash on Stockdale Highway at the 5 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the hit-and-run accident happened sometime on Monday. Under unclear circumstances, a drunk driver struck another vehicle on the Stockdale Highway.
 
Due to the impact, the second vehicle was sent off the Stockdale Highway overpass onto the 5 Freeway lanes. Meanwhile, the driver of the first car fled the scene, leaving the other driver with unclear injuries.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and brought the victim to a hospital for treatment.
 
At this time, officers need the public’s help in identifying the whereabouts of the driver of the vehicle, which officers described as a brown SUV with major front-end damage. Therefore, anyone with information should contact the CHP.
