1 Hurt After Vehicle Hits Big Rig in Fiery Crash on Highway 99 in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 19, 2024) — A driver suffered an injury after a car crashed into a semi-truck in a fiery accident on Highway 99 near California Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 9:40 p.m. on June 15. For an unknown reason, a driver of what appeared to be a Nissan Versa struck the rear of a semi-truck. Subsequently, the car caught fire, but the driver was able to escape the blaze.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and took the sedan driver to Kern Medical for further treatment.
 
Authorities did not say if anyone else was injured or what led to the accident.
