Driver Hospitalized in Car Crash with Big Rig on Highway 99 in Butte County
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (February 6, 2023) — A driver suffered minor injuries in a car accident with a semi-truck on Highway 99 near Durham-Pentz Road.
According to a Chico California Highway Patrol officer, the car accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday. A driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a semi-truck. The vehicle subsequently rolled a couple of times before coming to a stop on the highway.
Soon after, Oroville CHP officers responded to the scene to assist in clearing the crash while paramedics brought the injured driver to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. It appears there was minimal damage to the truck and the driver was able to drive away.
