GARDENA, CA (August 26, 2021) – A driver sustained injuries after a car crashed into a repair shop on Western Avenue, early Monday morning.
 
According to the Gardena Police Department, the incident happened at about 12:10 a.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle slammed into Maaco Auto Body Shop & Painting near 139th Street.
 
Emergency responders transported the driver of the vehicle to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Officers believe that the vehicle was racing prior to the collision. However, Gardena police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash.
