Driver Hit, Kills Pedestrian and Dies in Multi-Car Accident on San Bernardino Street

 
MONTCLAIR, CA (December 22, 2021) — A driver who hit and killed a pedestrian died in a multi-car crash on San Bernardino Street at Monte Vista Avenue on Friday evening.
 
According to Montclair police, the fatal incident happened around 5:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver speeding in a BMW blew through a stop sign.
 
As a result, the car struck and killed a 61-year-old pedestrian on Orchard Street.
 
Subsequently, the 43-year-old continued driving and sped onto the wrong side of the road where it collided with a car that was stopped at a red traffic light at Monte Vista Avenue.
 
From there, the car collided with another vehicle head-on. As a result, the driver suffered fatal wounds at the scene.
 
Shortly after, paramedics reached the area and tended to two other drivers who suffered unknown injuries.
 
At this time, the names of the fatal victims have not been released by authorities. However, an investigation into this case should confirm more details.
