Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 4 near Hoffman Lane in Byron

 
BYRON, CA (September 30, 2022) – One person died in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 4 early Wednesday morning.
 
According to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, the incident happened on September 28 at about 5:19 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a westbound Ford Taurus hit the rear of an eastbound tractor-trailer.
 
The impact of the collision caused the Ford Taurus to enter the eastbound lane. There, a Honda Odyssey hit the side of the Ford Taurus near Hoffman Lane.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the driver of the Honda dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the Ford Taurus driver to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
As per reports, the driver of the tractor-trailer did not sustain injuries.
