Fatal Fiery Car Accident on Avalon Boulevard near Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Carson

 
CARSON, CA (June 3, 2021) – One person died, May 31, in a fiery car accident on Avalon Boulevard.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, two vehicles collided near Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
 
The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to burst into flames.
 
Emergency crews later pronounced the driver and the sole occupant of the burned vehicle deceased at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.
 
Responders temporarily shut down Avalon Boulevard from University Drive to Elsmere Drive for several hours to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
Deputies continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
