Man Killed in Head-On Accident on East Alvarado Street near Amigos Way in Fallbrook

 
FALLBROOK, CA (October 4, 2021) – A man was killed in a head-on car accident on East Alvarado Street, Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on October 1, at about 9:50 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, an eastbound Chevrolet Cruze drifted into the westbound lane. Then, the Chevrolet collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma near Amigos Way.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the 41-year-old Chevrolet driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old woman driving the Tacoma sustained moderate injuries. An ambulance later transported her to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment.
 
CHP believes that alcohol played a role in the fatal accident. Investigators ask witnesses to call CHP’s Oceanside office at (760) 643-3400.
