Driver Detained in DUI 2-Car Collision on Highway 125 in La Mesa

 
LA MESA, CA (April 26, 2022) — A driver faces charges in a DUI car accident on Highway 125 near Lemon Avenue on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident happened south of Lemon Avenue. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Scion tC sideswiped a Honda Civic. As a result of the impact, the Scion crashed onto its side while the driver-side door of the Honda Civic was ripped from the car.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to the scene and found neither of the drivers injured in the accident. However, officers did issue a sobriety test on one of the drivers, later determining that DUI played a role.
 
At this time, an investigation remains to confirm any other unclear details. If anyone has more information on this crash, please call the CHP.
