Driver Evading Deputy Ends in Car Crash on Maze Boulevard in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (August 19, 2021) – The authorities arrested a driver following a car crash on Maze Boulevard in Modesto Wednesday night.
 
Based on reports, the crash happened at around 10:00 p.m. on August 11. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office reported that a deputy tried to stop a northbound vehicle on Martin Luther King Drive. However, the driver did not stop and kept on going until it crashed into a box truck on Maze Boulevard.
 
The impact disabled the fleeing vehicle and also caused the box truck to overturn east of the intersection. Subsequently, the driver of the vehicle fled on foot on Martin Luther King Drive into an alley. The deputy used a taser to apprehend the driver.
 
No injuries were reported. However, the deputy arrested the driver of the vehicle. No further information was available.
