William Hughes and Douglas Warren Hospitalized in Fatal Lake County Car Accident

 
LAKE COUNTY, CA (August 25, 2022)Douglas Warren and William Hughes were injured in a fatal two-car accident on Highway 20 near Bachelor Valley Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle collision happened on August 18 around 4:42 p.m. For unknown reasons, 64-year-old Warren allowed his eastbound Ford Ranger to veer over the center line.
 
Subsequently, the Ford crossed into the westbound lane, where it collided with a 2019 Volvo tractor-trailer combination, driven by 75-year-old Caroll Landers.
 
Soon after, paramedics reached the scene and brought Warren and 58-year-old Hughes, a passenger in the Ford, to Santa Rosa Memorial Center for treatment of major injuries.
 
Unfortunately, a passenger in the Ford whose name has yet to be released died at the scene.
 
Information about the leading cause of the crash needs more investigation. If anyone has more information on this crash, which closed down Highway 20 for nearly three hours, please call the CHP Clearlake office.
