Donald Ferguson Dies, Colton Daniels Involved in Deadly Bicycle Accident on Highway 101 near Herrick Avenue

 
HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (October 27, 2022) — Donald Ferguson died in a bicycle crash on Highway 101 near Herrick Avenue Sunday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal bicycle accident happened around 7:42 p.m. Upon receiving word of a bicycle accident, CHP officers responded to find 51-year-old Ferguson, of Rio Dell, with serious injuries in the accident. Under unclear circumstances, a 2015 Chevrolet pickup, driven by 29-year-old Colton Daniels, of Eureka, struck Ferguson within the No. 1 lane.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, Ferguson died from his injuries.
