Dixie Lewis, Ross Schultz Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 89 [Truckee, CA]

Dixie Lewis, Daughter of Author Michael Lewis, Dies in Crash on Highway 89 in Truckee

 
TRUCKEE, CA (June 1, 2021) – Officers identified Dixie Lewis and Ross Schultz as the victims who died in a head-on crash on Highway 89 on May 25.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the victims were recent Berkeley High graduates.
 
Based on a report, their vehicle was traveling northbound on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle entered the southbound lane of the highway. Subsequently, it collided with another vehicle traveling southbound.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced 20-year-old Schultz and 19-year-old Lewis dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the other vehicle, a 45-year-old from Fernley, Nevada, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
 
Dixie Lewis was the daughter of bestselling author Michael Lewis and photographer Tabitha Soren.
 
At this point, an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
