Six-Vehicle Pileup on Highway 12 at Beck Avenue Kills 24-Year-Old Vallejo Man
FAIRFIELD, CA (April 28, 2021) – Diego Morales died in a six-vehicle pileup Thursday evening on Highway 12 in Fairfield.
The fatal crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. on April 22, at Beck Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 24-year-old Vallejo man was driving a Chevrolet Camaro. At the same time, 35-year-old Michael Solis of Vallejo was driving a Dodge 2500 pickup truck westbound on the highway.
Solis failed to stop while approaching traffic at Beck Avenue and slammed into the back of the Camaro. The impact caused a pileup involving four other vehicles.
Morales suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, according to the Solano County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office. He was the only person in the Camaro.
The drivers of the other five vehicles sustained minor injuries. Paramedics transported 22-year-old Brad Berman of Vacaville to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center. They also took 67-year-old Michael Boyce of Suisun City to NorthBay Medical Center.
Solis and the other two drivers were treated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
