Rollover Accident on Dillon Road in Desert Hot Springs Kills Driver and Badly Injures Passenger
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (September 30, 2021) – Desiray Ramirez died in a rollover accident in Desert Hot Springs Wednesday morning.
The accident happened around 8:53 a.m. on September 29 in the 35900 block of Dillon Road near Superior Ready Mix. According to the CHP, the 22-year-old victim from Cathedral City was driving a Nissan Altima southbound on Dillon Road at a high rate of speed. She attempted to pass slower traffic ahead when she drove into the northbound traffic lane.
Ramirez then made an unsafe turning movement to the right to avoid a head-on crash, when she lost control of the Altima. The car then rolled over several times.
The Riverside County Fire Department responded and found Ramirez and her passenger ejected from the car.
Ramirez suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
An air ambulance took the passenger to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Both were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
