Driver Wanted after Hit-and-Run Crash on Singley Hill Road in Loleta
LOLETA, CA (August 12, 2021) – A deputy suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Singley Hill Road on August 7.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened during the victim’s early morning patrol near Loleta Drive.
Based on reports, an unidentified vehicle sideswiped the Humboldt County Sheriff‘s deputy’s patrol vehicle. Subsequently, the deputy lost control of the car. Then, the patrol car went rolling down an embankment.
As a result, the deputy was able to escape with minor injuries. However, the driver of the other car fled the area following the collision.
Due to darkness and the suddenness of the incident, the deputy only described the car as a dark-colored truck with passenger-side damage.
As of now, this hit-and-run crash on Singley Hill Road is still under investigation. In addition, officials ask anyone with information regarding the location or identity of the driver or suspect vehicle to contact the CHP.
