Dean Acevedo Hurt in Deadly Car Crash on Butters Road at Highway 78

 
BRAWLEY, CA (June 8, 2022) — Dean Acevedo suffered minor injuries in a fatal two-car accident on Butters Road at Highway 78 on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle accident happened around 7:05 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 41-year-old Holtville man driving a Hyundai Elantra on Butters Road entered the intersection with Highway 78 when an eastbound Toyota Tacoma slammed into the left side of his vehicle.
 
As a result of the impact, the unrestrained Hyundai driver was ejected from the vehicle while the Toyota Tacoma overturned into a nearby canal.
 
The 41-year-old Hyundai driver from Holtville suffered major injuries and died shortly after.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded to the scene and transported 20-year-old Acevedo — the Tacoma driver — to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley with minor injuries.
 
At this time, officers have not released the leading cause of the crash. Although, Google Maps shows a stop sign on Butters Road, as this might have factored into the crash somehow. If anyone has more information on this accident, please call the CHP.
