Bicyclist Davis Injured after Hit-and-Run Collision on McKinleyville Avenue near Hiller Road

 
MCKINLEYVILLE, CA (June 8, 2022) – A bicyclist sustained injuries in a hit-and-run collision on McKinleyville Avenue on Monday afternoon.
 
According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on June 6, at about 4:15 p.m. A northbound bicyclist, identified by authorities only as “Davis,” stopped at the stop sign at the intersection.
 
At the same time, a westbound vehicle entered the intersection and hit the bicyclist.
 
The impact of the collision ejected Davis from the bicycle near Hiller Road.
 
Emergency crews transported Davis to a hospital for treatment of injuries to his shoulder and leg.
 
As per reports, the driver briefly exited the vehicle to look at the victim before fleeing the scene. Davis described the suspect as a woman in her mid to late 30s, with long black hair, and wearing a floral pattern dress.
