David Mendoza Arrested, Two Others Hurt after DUI Crash on Colony Street near Panama Lane

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 25, 2022) — Officials arrested David Mendoza, 31, of Bakersfield, after a DUI crash on Wednesday, April 20.
 
According to Bakersfield Police Department, at around 11:25 p.m., a BPD K-9 patrol vehicle turned south onto Colony Street from Panama Lane through a green light. Then a car driven by Mendoza hit the patrol vehicle.
 
Officers reported Mendoza was impaired and in possession of narcotics. His booking charges also show suspicion of drug possession with intent to sell.
 
Medics rushed a female passenger in Mendoza’s vehicle to an area hospital for a sustained injury. Meanwhile, the BPD officer also sustained a minor injury and was not brought to the hospital for treatment.
