Head-On Crash on Highway 299 in Douglas City Hurts 2 Drivers, 1 Passenger
DOUGLAS CITY, CA (July 26, 2022) – David Marceau and Bilal Abdelrauf were hurt in a head-on accident in Douglas City Wednesday on July 20.
The accident happened around 2:20 p.m. on Highway 299 near Highway 3. CHP officials said Abdelrauf, 21, was driving his vehicle along with a passenger westbound on Highway 299. As he turned to the left to merge, he crashed head-on into another vehicle, driven by Marceau, 74.
Marceau was merging eastbound to Highway 299 coming from Highway 3.
As a result of the crash, Marceau suffered minor injuries. Paramedics took him to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for proper treatment.
Abdelrauf and his passenger complained of pain, but declined medical treatment.
Alcohol and drugs are not a considered a factor in the crash. The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
