UPDATE: David Jones Dies in Hit-and-Run after Falling Off Electric Unicycle on Kooser Road [San Jose, CA]

Electric Unicycle Rider David Jones Struck by Vehicle in Fatal San Jose Accident

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 11, 2021) – San Jose Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck a 52-year-old man who was riding a one-wheel e-scooter on Tuesday, May 4.
 
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has identified him as 52-year-old San Jose resident David Jones.
 
Due to unknown circumstances, he fell from his electric unicycle. Subsequently, a trailing motorist struck Jones. However, the driver of the vehicle continued without rendering aid to the victim.
 
Officers responded around 9:55 p.m. to the collision reported in the 1500 block of Kooser Road. Soon after, police located Jones and pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Police are still trying to locate the vehicle. At this point, an investigation is ongoing.
