David Hamilton, Billy Traves Dead in Overturned Accident on 5 Freeway near Highway 43

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 25, 2021) — David Victor James Hamilton and Billy Shane Traves died in an overturned crash on the 5 Freeway near Highway 43 Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened before 11:00 am. For unknown reasons, a vehicle traveling southbound encountered a flat tire, which caused the vehicle to overturn.
 
The two occupants in the car who were reportedly not wearing their safety belts ejected from the vehicle. As a result, one person struck an oncoming vehicle, causing injury to an occupant of that car.
 
Soon after, authorities and paramedics responded and pronounced two people dead. The Kern County coroner’s office has identified them as 51-year-old Hamilton of Modesto and 44-year-old Traves of Stockton.
