El Sereno Crash on 710 Freeway Kills Joel Frias and David Ayala, Injures One

 
EL SERENO, CA (March 7, 2022) – David Ayala and Joel Frias died in a multi-vehicle accident on 710 Freeway in El Sereno, early Friday morning.
 
The accident happened just after 12:45 a.m. on March 4 at Valley Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved several vehicles. It started when a speeding SUV exited the freeway and crashed into a curb and then a recycling center.
 
Ayala, 20, and Frias, 25, both died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. Both were from Los Angeles.
 
Another man, 24-years-old, was in the backseat in one of the involved vehicles. He suffered major injuries and was transported to LAC + USC Medical Center.
 
At this time, the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
